LSR silicone (liquid silicone rubber). It is a silicone elastomer in liquid form. It is a two-component material. Mixing ratio 1:1. LSR silicones are processed using the injection method on injection molding machines. The vulcanization process begins inside the mold. Reaching a level of up to 160°C to 220°C allows the cross-linking process to be carried out. From this point on, the reaction occurs very quickly. A value of 5s/mm of wall thickness is considered to be customary in the vulcanization process.
Advantages of the material
fast cross-linking – due to its short cycle, LSR silicone can be used for large-scale production;
resistance to weather conditions and aging process,
high flexibility,
very good resistance to extreme temperatures (high and low),
physiological indifference,
high surface adhesion – allowing combination with other materials.
