Young people in Greater Poland region are implementing their climate projects thanks to the support of UNICEF Polska and Symbase

Young people want to change the world and act for themselves, their loved ones, their communities and the whole world. However, they need support from adults, because there is not always enough space at school for activities for the environment and climate. UNICEF Polska, in cooperation with Symbase, has prepared the project "Youth for Climate in Greater Poland", in which schools from the region can obtain support to implement ideas in this area developed together with students.

Young people do not want to be passive and remain indifferent to the problems of climate change and environmental degradation. On the one hand, they want to actively participate in the processes of making the most important decisions regarding environmental issues, and on the other hand, they undertake many activities in this area.

The "Youth for Climate in Greater Poland" project is an excellent opportunity to carry out interesting activities in the field of environmental protection with young people. It is addressed to students and teachers from secondary schools in the Greater Poland region, who can jointly apply for funding for the implementation of selected initiatives related to the promotion of an ecological lifestyle or issues related to climate change.

At UNICEF Poland, we greatly value cooperation with business partners. It is thanks to their support and commitment that we have the opportunity not only to support the global activities of the organization, but also to implement local activities, such as the grant project implemented with Symbase. Such joint initiatives open up completely new perspectives and opportunities for young people, and at the same time develop their sense of influence and agency – says Renata Bem, Director General of UNICEF Poland. – Analyzing needs, developing solutions, their practical implementation, as well as the need to take responsibility for the entire process are extremely important experiences that will certainly be useful in adult life – she adds.

We decided to support the "Youth for Climate in Greater Poland" project because thanks to such activities, young people learn that it is possible to implement their own ideas. It also means building a sense of responsibility for the preparation, but also for the subsequent implementation and settlement of the project. Students acquire skills that will be useful in their adult lives. Such involvement of the local community is part of our approach to doing business and deep awareness of corporate social responsibility – says Klaudiusz Dominiak, CEO of Symbase Group.

The aim of the "Youth for Climate in Greater Poland" project is to stimulate the social involvement of young people from the Greater Poland region, promote the activity of young people in the area of environmental and climate protection and support the implementation of young people's social projects by providing financial resources for specific activities.
