Thermally conductive materials

Thermally conductive materials (called Thermal Management) are a special group of heat-conducting products. They allow for the dissipation/transfer of heat emitted by heating components. As devices are getting smaller, heat is often released in a very small area. Overheating an element most often may result in failure of the entire device. Therefore, the heat must be effectively collected or dispersed over a larger surface to lower the temperature. Heat transfer depends on a good connection between the device and the heat receiving medium.

Thermally conductive materials can be divided into several groups:

  • single-component thermally conductive adhesives - cured with moisture or temperature
  • two-component thermally conductive castings
  • thermal pastes - non-drying, enabling subsequent disassembly. Mainly used to improve element-radiator contact
